It is with deep appreciation and renewed commitment that I address you today, as I begin a second mandate as President of the Association of Petroleum Importing Companies in Lebanon.
Our association groups major importers, oil terminals and main marketers for refined petroleum and liquefied gas in Lebanon and is an active member in the council of economic organizations.
Since its establishment on March 14, 2007, APIC has been at the forefront of the petroleum sector, working diligently to secure a continuous and reliable supply of refined petroleum products and liquefied gas to Lebanese consumers and businesses.
Over the past years, our sector has navigated some of the most challenging periods in Lebanon’s modern history. Yet, with the resilience of our member companies and the dedication of our teams, we managed to uphold the continuous supply of petroleum products across the country—ensuring that businesses continued to operate. From the fuel that powers our vehicles, to the energy that keeps our homes warm and generators running, our efforts helped keep hospitals and bakeries functioning and industries moving forward.
Our achievements are a collective result of transparency, cooperation with public authorities, and a shared sense of responsibility toward the Lebanese people. We have modernized many of our operational practices, improved safety standards, and advocated for more efficient energy policies that serve both the economy and the environment.
Looking ahead, our commitment is stronger than ever. We are working toward a future that integrates innovation, sustainability, and long-term energy security. The petroleum sector will continue to adapt, evolve, and invest in solutions that respond to Lebanon’s needs while preparing for the global energy transition.
I sincerely thank our member companies for renewing their trust and electing the same leadership team for a second term. This renewed confidence is both a privilege and a responsibility.
Lebanon has always been a nation of resilience. Together, we will continue to serve the public interest with integrity, professionalism, and a shared vision for a better tomorrow.
With gratitude and hope,
Maroun Nicolas Chammas
President
Association of Petroleum Importing Companies in Lebanon (APIC)
