The  Association of Petroleum Importing Companies (APIC) was founded with a clear commitment to supporting Lebanon’s energy security, modernizing the petroleum sector, and fostering responsible industry practices. APIC aims to promote transparency, safety, and environmental stewardship while contributing to national economic development and regulatory advancement.

Ensuring Continuous Supply Through Collaboration

Coordinate with all supply chain players to Insure uninterrupted and continuous supply all the way to the consumer.

Modernize Oil Sector Legislation

Play a proactive role with national administrations and legislative bodies to modernize laws and regulations related to the petroleum industry in Lebanon, in line with international developments.

Promote Quality and Consumer Protection

Increase consumer awareness and coordinate with relevant entities to combat fraud related to product quality and quantity.

Ensure Supply Security

Safeguard the continuity and reliability of petroleum product supply across the country.

Support Economic Growth

Join national economic bodies as an active member and contribute to shaping economic policies that support Lebanon's development.

Foster Transparency and Fair Market Practices

Advocate for fair and competitive market conditions while upholding quality, safety, and environmental standards.

Encourage Innovation and Sustainability

Promote the adoption of sustainable energy practices and encourage innovation across the oil sector.

Strengthen Public-Private Dialogue

Foster cooperation with public institutions, regulators, and international bodies to align industry practices with national energy goals.

Enhance Industry Knowledge and Skills

Organize conferences and training programs to share expertise and raise professional standards in the sector.

Contribute to Environmental Protection

Promote a culture of environmental responsibility by supporting sustainable projects and assisting public entities such as the Ministry of Environment and Civil Defense. In this regard, APIC donated a firefighting boat to the Lebanese Civil Defense to aid in emergency environmental response.

Professional and Technical Standards
Upgrade professional practices in quality assurance, safety, and environmental protection in accordance with international benchmarks.

 

Policy and Regulatory Engagement
Work closely with governmental bodies to develop systems, legislation, and project laws that advance the petroleum sector and support Lebanon’s economic growth.

Strategic Pillars

Safety & Standards

  • Promote best practices in safety for terminals, transportation, and service stations.
  • Introduce the APIC “Flagging” system as a mark of minimum guaranteed standards.
  • Launch an accreditation system to assess safety, quality, and quantity in various activities.
  • Organize regular training programs to build professional capacity. In this regard, training sessions were held for all tank drivers in coordination with the Civil Defense.
  • Host international conferences to share knowledge and elevate national standards.

Public Administration Relations

  • Maintain continuous dialogue with ministries, especially the Ministry of Energy and Water, to contribute to the national strategy.
  • Contribute to legislative and ministerial committees to modernize or propose new laws.
  • Advocate for specialized committees within public institutions to serve as technical liaisons with APIC.

Economic Sector Relations

Join Lebanese economic organizations and actively participate in shaping economic policy and strategies.

Consumer-Oriented Strategy

  • Raise awareness about product quality and safety through targeted campaigns.

  • Collaborate with the Consumer Protection Service (Ministry of Economy and Trade) to address quality and quantity issues.

Environmental Protection & Development

  • Support and develop sustainable projects benefiting society and the environment.

  • Assist public entities in environmental protection initiatives.
  • Participate in environmental projects such as used oil collection and treatment programs.
